Kyun Kyun, Kyun Kyun, watashi no kare wa PILOT-ooooo...

As an older male in the software engineering field with disposable income, this item hits the sweet spot intersecting my nerd-dom with a casual level of watch enthusiasm/collection. I prefer interesting conversation piece type of watches rather than the expensive, high end brands as I am a bit of klutz and definitely beat up my watches but am also cost conscious (I like bargain hunting and look for value).

The watch is visually appealing and Macross paraphernalia like this is difficult to find. I wanted to give it 5-stars but the problem is that there is a comparable on this very site that knocks it down a peg which is the Transformers offering.

The strap on this one is not quick release and the case is supposed to be steel but feels cheap, like plastic. It may very well be metal and as durable but if you compare this side by side with the $60 Transformer offerings, you'll know what I'm talking about.

The configuration on this chrono watch is more standard in that the second hand of the three hands is for time keeping. The nifty feature of this watch is the UN-Spacy/Robotech logo on the watch is actually the seconds tracking of the chronograph function: watching it rotate when using the timekeeping/stopwatch function tickles my geek funny bone.

But for sub-$50, you can't ask for too much. Good value, good find, and worthy of 4-stars but personally I would have gladly paid another $15 for a more quality looking and feeling case as well as a quick release strap.

Expectations exceeded

The design of the dials on the face, look fantastic in person. The feeling of the soft Matt black metal on the body feels great on the skin. The strap perfectly fits my slimmer than average wrists. Very satisfied
