This was a gift for my son-in-law. From what I last heard he loves the watch.

my nephew is a big “transformer” fan .. he really liked this watch!

As an older male in the software engineering field with disposable income, this item hits the sweet spot intersecting my nerd-dom with a casual level of watch enthusiasm/collection. I prefer interesting conversation piece type of watches rather than the expensive, high end brands as I am a bit of klutz and definitely beat up my watches but am also cost conscious (I like bargain hunting and look for value).

The 5-star rating is for the piece but also the value I think you are getting for it.

The strap is removable so you can easily swap other straps in. Buying an equivalent strap separately is 20-30 dollars (or more) so you are basically getting a dark navy strap with blue stitching that you can swap with any watch you have where the strap sizes are equivalent.

The case is metal and has a quality look and feel to it, especially when compared the Macross watches offered (which was what originally drew me to this site).

It's been years since I've worn a chronograph watch but I've never really bothered to memorize or understand them. On this one, it looks like a three hand watch but the second hand is actually used for the chronograph/stopwatch function and not for timekeeping. The minute sub-dial is for the timekeeping/chrono function but the hour sub-dial is for military time tracking. Could be other chronograph watches with a tachymeter bezel have a similar configuration but being the neophyte I am, I had expected the second hand to function like any other watch with a second hand and it took me some time to figure it all out. It's not a deal breaker for me but your mileage may vary depending on the functionality you are expecting, whether your are just a Transformers fan with no knowledge of watches, and the inability to be sure of if you are setting the exact time due to no visual cue of how the watch is managing seconds.

But in the end, the price you are paying (a little over $50) vs. what you are getting is more than far in my opinion and worth a 5-star rating.

The quality and design make this an amazing purchase. Feels high-end.
